A Brief Historical Perspective
Forward-thinking physicians from throughout the greater Kansas City area founded Heartland in 2003. These doctors shared a common goal, to ensure their patients received the same quality hospital care they wanted for their own families.
Known as Heartland Spine and Specialty Hospital for seven years, we changed our name to Heartland Surgical Specialty Hospital in 2010. This new name more accurately reflects the wide variety of care our medical staff provides. However, be assured that the same values and commitment to exceptional, personalized care remains the same.
This diversity delivers important advantages. It’s great for our community, bringing more services to more patients who need them. At the same time, Heartland’s emphasis on specialized surgical care benefits individual patients. Research shows that increased specialization leads to improved patient outcomes!
